Hi everyone,
My apologies for the lack of entries for the past few days. Many reasons contributed for the lull in my updates. Firstly, I think I caught a virus from one of you and came down with a fever and a sore throat. So, I was feeling quite miserable most of last week. There were also some loose ends to be tied up for the CCA which I am in charge of, table tennis. I was also asked to cover some duties of the P5 teachers who were out for the P5 camp. On the domestic end, my wife’s sister gave birth to a baby boy and there was a whirlwind of activities on my wife’s side of the family.
There were also not much progress for the class decorations. The decoration materials, which I had bought, are still lying around waiting for me to put them up.

Paul’s coins from Denmark and the curtains contributed by Grace and Kar Yern are also waiting for me to put them into better use.

There is also the Chinese New Year decorations to be put up.

For consolation, we did manage to rearrange the sitting arrangement to create more walking space in the classroom.
Sometimes I wish I had 3 heads and 6 hands (三头六臂) to get everything done all at once. ![]()
Dear 3D,
Living in a multi-racial society, it is important that we respect the customs and beliefs of the other races. I hope you have understood the messages which Mrs Ong was trying very hard to put across to you. Looking at the wars that are going on around the world, let us not take for granted that the different races in Singapore will always co-exist harmoniously.
Congratulations to these pupils who had achieved the 10 stars award for their Math Activity Book:
Qi Xu
Clara
Charles
Nikos
Yihan
Well done!
Dear 3J,
Today we discussed about how objects can be classified. For example, the entire class of 3J can be classified into boys and girls. In addition, among the boys and girls, we can further classify them into those who wear glass versus thoses who don’t. I hope you had a good time sorting out the advertisement into their correct classification.
I wanted to take 3J out to the school field for their science lesson today. However, it had started to rain early in the morning and the rain persisted through the day. I had to make a snap decision, to postpone the lesson or to continue with the lesson indoors.
In the end, I decided to conduct the lesson within the canteen vicinity. Initially, I was worried that the pupils may not be able to find enough examples of living things around the canteen. I was therefore pleasantly surprised that many of them were able to come up with a rather long list. It shows that raw enthusiasm can sometimes overcome many obstacles.
Hi 3J,
It is a pity I did not get chance to meet you guys last week because we did not have any lessons together. I hope to know all of you better. Here are the photographs which I had taken of the class:
I have been getting quite few queries on the classes which I am teaching this year, so they are:
3D - Math, Science, Form Teacher
3G - English
3J - Science
As I am teaching about 120 pupils, please pardon me if I get your names mixed up once in while. ![]()
Hi guys,
I hope you had a fun week. It must be very difficult waking up so early after such a long break from school. I had difficulties adjusting too and I am glad to have the weekend to recuperate. I am sure you are all looking forward to the new week when we will have more LESSONS!!
You may recall that we touched on living things and non-living things in our Science lesson on Friday. We are going to talk more about this topic this week. We will also be starting our Math lessons soon so please remember to get your books ready.
Also the different levels in the school have been assigned to decorate our classrooms according to a theme. The theme assigned to the P3s is the United Nations. Since we are class 3D, we are to adopt the nation of Denmark for as our sub-theme. So if you have any decorations related to the country Denmark, I hope you can contribute them to the class.
Lastly, one of my ex-pupil, Abelline (3C 2006) sent me a link which I think is quite cute and funny. Hope you like it too.
See you in class!
After much deliberation, our class rules have been finalised.

A warm welcome to all the pupils in 3D.
I am very happy to be your form teacher as all of you behaved like angels today. As a result of your good behaviour, we managed to complete all the things we wanted to do. What remains is the decoration of the notice boards, planning of daily duties, setting up of the library corner and the games corner.
We will need books for the library corner and table games for the games corner. Your contributions are most welcomed. It will also take a while for the notice boards to look pretty, but I am sure it will be worth it. I hope that all of you will be proud that you are a part of 3D and make it the best class in the school.
I am unable to upload the pictures, which I had taken today, because I left my camera in school. (Everyone makes mistakes.
) I hope to do it by tomorrow. Lastly, I wish to extent my thanks to Denton and Shuyu for doing a superb job as monitor and monitress today, despite this being their first day on the job.
See you tomorrow. ![]()
